Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage (40 hours)

 

Students must hold or be studying the Anatomy and Physiology Diploma. Unit 22 Professional Conduct and Business Awareness is mandatory with this course if not already achieved or an equivalent qualification held.
The course covers:
Consultation technique. Hygiene. Massage movements and effects. Full body massage. Face and scalp massage. Use of different massage media. Aftercare. History of massage. Adaption techniques including seated massage. Use of heat. Mechanical massage aids. Pregnancy massage. Knowledge of other complementary therapies. Students are required to produce 20 case studies - treating 5 clients 4 times each.

Level 3 Diploma in Indian Head Massage (35 hours)

 

Students must hold or be studying the Anatomy and Physiology Diploma. Unit 22 Professional Conduct and Business Awareness is mandatory with this course if not already achieved or an equivalent qualification held.
The course covers:
History of Indian head massage. Hygiene. Consultation. Massage of back, neck, shoulders, arms, chest, face and scalp. Massage movements and effects. Knowledge of different oils. Complimentary therapies. Knowledge of chakra's and energy meridians. Hair structure, growth, disorders and diseases. Case studies are required - 3 people treated 3 times.

Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy (55 hours)

 

Students must hold the ITEC Diploma in Holistic Massage or level 3 equivalent to do this course.
The course covers:
History and development of aromatherapy. Methods of extraction. Blending and synergy of oils. Detailed knowledge of 42 essential oils. Consultation. Full body, face and scalp routine incorporating meridian and chakra work. Chemical compounds. Carrier oils. Massage movements and effects. Aftercare. Home use of oils. Complementary therapies.

Case studies are required - 10 people 4 times each.

Level 3 Diploma in Lymphatic Drainage Massage (30 hours)

 

Students must hold the ITEC Diploma in Holistic Massage or equivalent level 3 qualification.
This course covers:
Consultation. Definition and causes of lymph oedema. Hygiene. Client care. Referrals. After care. Full body and face routine. Associated anatomy and physiology. Principles of lymphatic drainage massage.

Case studies are required - 3 people treated 3 times.

Unit 22 Professional Conduct & Business Awareness

(15 hours)

 

This course covers:
Ethics. Professionalism. Liaison with the medical profession. Insurance. First aid. Hygiene. Consultation techniques. Acts and legislation relevant to therapists. Basic book - keeping. Stock control. Retail selling. Advertising. Costing. Continuing Professional Development. Electrical safety. Room design. Reception duties. Planning a talk or demonstration.
